BrawlBanPick Beta version

Getting started with the BrawlBanPick beta

The BrawlBanPick beta launched on October 6. BrawlBanPick is a draft helper for comparing your next brawler pick and team compositions in Brawl Stars Ranked.

Use it when you are unsure whom to pick, want to fill the remaining spots around your teammates’ picks, or are preparing a team with friends.

1. Choose your game mode

Select a mode to see brawlers and team compositions. If you know the map, select it too. You can also start with just a mode if you have not decided on a map.

2. Select your Ranked bracket

Enter your draft in the view that matches your current Ranked bracket.

3. Enter the brawlers already selected

Start with your team’s picks. In views that support bans or opposing picks, enter those from the game as well. Find brawlers using the search box or choose them directly from the list.

4. Compare candidates and team compositions

Use brawler recommendations to choose your next pick, and Best team combinations to explore the whole team. Try changing your picks to compare different lineups.

For guidance, open Help or Replay Tutorial. You can also choose the language and screen theme you prefer.

BrawlBanPick is a beta service. We continue to refine its guidance and usability.

Quick start

  1. Choose a mode

Choosing a mode opens maps and team inputs together. You can compare teams for the whole mode immediately, without choosing a map.

  2. A map is optional

Without a map, you can compare teams using common performance in this mode. Select the overall button showing the mode’s name, or choose a particular map.

  3. Choose the format and add what you know

Choose the tab that matches the game’s draft format. You can start with empty slots and edit your inputs at any time.

  4. Compare the recommendations

Use ‘Choose brawler’ to compare one candidate at a time, or ‘Best team combinations’ to plan a lineup together. Tap each section’s i for the numbers and selection methods.

Frequently asked questions

What do I enter in each tab, and where does a click place a brawler?

No ban · All pick: enter your team’s picks. Bans and enemy picks are not used.

All ban · All pick: enter your team’s picks and bans. Enemy picks are not entered.

All ban · Turn pick: enter both teams’ picks and bans.

Get recommendations with what you know. You can change brawlers at any time.

Click a brawler to place it in the slot marked ‘Next’. Use the team and ban buttons, or click an empty slot, to change the destination. You do not have to enter information in match order.

Your team picks first by default in turn-pick. Blue means your team goes first; red means the enemy. Click the coin to switch. The default order is six bans, then first side 1 → second side 2 → first side 2 → second side 1. If you have not set the coin manually, the team receiving the first pick goes first.

How do I replace, remove or move a brawler?

When the replacement prompt appears, select a candidate in ‘Choose brawler’, then click the slot to replace. Clicking an occupied slot without a candidate selected removes its brawler.

The green check marks a selected replacement candidate. It has not been applied yet. Click the same candidate again or press Esc to cancel.

On desktop, drag portraits from lists or pick and ban slots. Dropping on a specific slot adds or replaces there; dropping in a region’s empty space uses its first empty slot from the left. Occupied slots swap brawlers. Removing a brawler does not shift the others.

Hover a candidate over an occupied slot to preview the win rate before and after. Drop it or click that slot to apply. Empty slots skip this win-rate comparison.

When should I use ‘Choose brawler’ or ‘Best team combinations’?

Compare the estimated average win rate of adding a candidate to your team.

Use ‘Best team combinations’ when planning a lineup with teammates. Compare your team’s highest-rated lineups under the current conditions. Even a rarely picked lineup can appear if completing your team with those three brawlers gives a high estimated win rate.

What does each sort option do?

Recommended: the default order. Compare the estimated average win rate of adding each candidate to your team.

Best lineup win rate: compare the highest estimated win rate of a team containing each candidate. Consider whether your remaining teammates can actually choose that lineup.

Name · Rarity: find brawlers by name or rarity. Cards still show the estimated average win rate. Use the arrow button to reverse the order.

Pick frequency helps weight the lineups likely to fill the remaining slots. The candidate's own pick rate is not multiplied by its win rate.

What does ‘Metric details’ show?

Show the average win rate, best-lineup win rate, uniform mean and pick rate together. This does not change the sort or input destination, and your choice is remembered in this browser. Turning it off keeps the main win rate and states such as no data or calculating.

Uniform average: The predicted win rate averaged equally across all possible lineups. This is not an individual win rate or a measure of safety.

Pick rate: This brawler's share of all brawler selections in supported teams from collected match records for the map or mode and rank range used by this recommendation.

How do recommendations change with two or three allies?

Your two chosen brawlers stay in place while you compare the last slot. Choose one in Choose brawler, or compare the completed teams and their estimated win probabilities in Best team combinations.

With three allies selected, recommendations keep screen slots 1 and 2 and compare slot 3, regardless of entry order. Editing picks or bans updates the comparison. Clicking a new candidate in ‘Best team combinations’ replaces slot 3. The current team’s win rate at the top uses all three selected allies.

‘Choose brawler’ also shows candidates for slot 3 while keeping slots 1 and 2. When the replacement prompt appears, choose a candidate, then a slot. Replacing a different slot recalculates the results for the new inputs.

How should I read the estimated win probability?

Connect a model to see which records and match formats its estimates use.

It estimates a team's chance of winning from past match records. Opponents, personal skill and in-game decisions can change the outcome. A slightly higher number alone is not enough to conclude that a pick is definitely better.

What do ‘Collecting data’ and ‘No data’ mean?

‘Collecting data’ means training data is being gathered to provide accurate metrics for this brawler. ‘No data’ means that metric is unavailable. ‘Calculating’ means a result for your new inputs is pending.

‘Choose brawler’ excludes brawlers already picked or banned. A search term or the current inputs can also keep a brawler out of the list.

What records are recommendations based on?

Estimates use Ranked match records collected through the official Brawl Stars API. Each tab evaluates the corresponding ranks and match format.

Your owned or upgraded brawlers and personal skill are not included. Recommendations compare lineups possible under your inputs; they do not predict the opponent’s actual next pick.

What is the difference between map-based and mode-based?

Choose a mode and leave the map unselected to compare teams based on common performance in that mode. Choosing a map also accounts for its specific conditions. Mode-based estimates are not a simple average of win rates across all maps.

If the selected map has insufficient data, recommendations may use the mode instead. The reason appears beside the recommendation scope. No estimate is provided when there is not enough evidence.

Do recommendations change immediately after a patch or new season?

Changes can take time to reach recommendations. The season map list and the match records used for recommendations may update at different times.

After a patch, also check what has changed in the game.
